Day #1 Journal Challenge

Scripture: Acts 1:14
"They all joined together constantly in prayer ..."

Observation:
Corporate prayer is part of God's plan for the church. In fact, the early church recognized this almost instinctively when they went immediately to prayer upon arriving in Jerusalem as they waited for the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Application:
God wants his people to pray together. Something special happens when a church family makes a corporate decision to join together and seek God with all their hearts. The early church was born out of an extended prayer meeting. It wasn't about marketing techniques or slick advertising flyers. Just impassioned, unified prayer.

What would happen if PCC fully grasped the importance of corporate prayer? What would God do in response to everyone being together for one reason - just to pray? What would God do in our pastoral staff if we prayed more together? What would God do in my family if we prayed more together?

Prayer:
God, thank you for the gift of prayer. Help me lead your church to become a church of prayer. I desire to experience your power and presence in this community like never before. As we join together in prayer, please pour out your Holy Spirit on this mountain and bring your help and healing to all who need. Create a desire in our hearts for corporate prayer and cultivate a lifestyle of expectancy as we wait on You.
